Presenter Application
25th Annual Children’s Water Festival
Wednesday, May 10, 2023
Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO
It’s that time of year again for planning the 2023 Children’s Water Festival! I would like to invite you to participate as a presenter in this years Festival!
On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the Southwestern Water Conservation District will host their 25th Annual Children’s Water Festival at Fort Lewis College from approximately 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. It has been three years since we presented the Festival and we are so excited to bring it back to Ft. Lewis College and to our schools in the Southwest. We very much hope you will be a new or returning presenter! We couldn’t do it without your expertise and much appreciated participation!
The Water Festival is a tremendous opportunity for your organization to share information about the importance of water with more than 800 regional fifth grade students. We encourage presenters to develop water-related activities that are interactive, hands-on, and fun (the more interactive the activity the more the children will remember). The 2023 Water Festival will engage students with topics such as water conservation, water chemistry, the water cycle, local water systems, species habitats, weather, water quality and ecology. Students will have fun with hands on activities while learning about local and global water issues.
Presentations will run simultaneously with groups of students rotating from session to session. Each session is 20-minutes and can take place in classrooms or outdoors.
Below please find a registration form, which we need filled-out no later than April 1, 2023 (the sooner the better, please). If you have any questions, please contact me at 970-759-8818. Thank you in advance for your participation in this year’s Festival!!
