25th Annual Children’s Water Festival
Wednesday, May 6, 2020
Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO
It’s that time of year again for planning the 2020 Children’s Water Festival! I would like to invite you to participate as a presenter again in this years Festival!
On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, the Southwestern Water Conservation District will host their 25th Annual Children’s Water Festival at Fort Lewis College from approximately 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. We very much hope you will be a returning presenter! We couldn’t do it without your expertise and much appreciated participation!
The Water Festival is a tremendous opportunity for your organization to share information about the importance of water with more than 700 regional fifth grade students. We encourage presenters to develop water-related activities that are interactive, hands-on, and fun (the more interactive the activity the more the children will remember). The 2020 Water Festival will engage students with topics such as water conservation, water chemistry, the water cycle, local water systems, species habitats, weather, water quality and ecology. Students will have fun with hands on activities while learning about local and global water issues.
Presentations will run simultaneously with groups of students rotating from session to session. The 20-minute sessions can take place in classrooms or outdoors.
Below please find a registration form, which we need filled-out no later than March 9th, 2020 (please). If you have any questions, please contact me at 970-759-8818. Thank you in advance for your participation in this year’s Festival!!
