Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act
March 7, 2012--Controversial hydropower bill passes House (Colorado Independent)
The House approved U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton’s bill to streamline small hydropower development processes for canals and ditches Wednesday. The Bureau of Reclamation Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act, aka H.R. 2842, passed by a vote of 265-154.

As part of a sustained effort to thin the federal government’s powers to protect the environment, Third District Colorado Republican Congressman Scott Tipton is requesting a Capitol Hill hearing to examine water storage rules in the West.
